Brad and I were talking last night about our favorite part of this trip and we both agreed that it’s been watching each of the kids in action–how they interact, what situations they gravitate towards, the decisions they make on their own (some better than others).

In particular, we decided, this boy has been fascinating. He’s quiet and observant and thoughtful and loving, but in a slightly different way, with a voice and a temper that’ll cut loose when he feels any sense of injustice (real or imagined).

He makes you earn every smile and every hug. He makes you work for every act of obedience. And yet, in some ways, he’s our easiest child.

He’s just an interesting dude. And it’s been fun getting to know him a little better this week…
