We’ve always done baptisms on Saturdays at the church where Brad and I were married, with only our family and friends. This time, we were in front of the entire congregation at our new (much more contemporary, clearly) church.

I was worried about how it would all go. I knew it would be different.

But, minus the not-great background for photos, it was great.

The pastor made it feel very personal. The kids behaved. And, since the endgame is all that matters, Roosevelt was baptized in front of a good percentage of the people we care about.

And then we ate BBQ.

So, you know, pretty darn perfect day.
